RecoRail at the Andalusian Road Congress

On March 26, Road Steel participated in the Andalusian Road Congress, an event organized by the Spanish Road Association (AEC) with the collaboration of the Regional Government of Andalusia. For us, attending and participating was a great honor, as many of our solutions are installed throughout Andalusia.

Our presence went beyond simply attending the congress. We took part directly in the Technical Presentations Section, specifically in Session 4: Safety for All Forms of Mobility, represented by Diego Santiago González, Director of our engineering division, Road Steel Engineering.

His presentation focused on RecoRail, a hybrid barrier developed by Road Steel that combines the containment capacity of steel with the aesthetics and sustainability of green recycled plastic, offering a new way to integrate sustainability into our roads, especially in natural environments. Its design provides an N2 containment level, a W2 or W3 working width, easy maintenance, and rapid repair in the event of an impact.

What makes RecoRail different?

Diego Santiago explained how this solution successfully combines safety engineering, functional design, and materials with a lower environmental impact, thanks to the use of both recycled plastic and recycled steel, creating a solution aligned with the new challenges faced by society and road infrastructure.

Alongside this presentation, we also had our own exhibition stand, which gave us the opportunity to meet key stakeholders in the road safety sector and exchange views on emerging trends.

Through our participation, we contributed to the adoption of a sustainable approach that represents the future of vehicle restraint systems, while continuing our commitment to sharing knowledge and helping make roads safer for everyone.
